RESEARCH AND CLINICAL TRIALS

What are clinical trials?

Clinical trials are studies that test new treatments such as medications. Doctors use clinical trials to discover new treatments and cures for diseases. New treatments are made possible only through participation of carefully screened patients and family members.

Why participate?

The Medical and Scientific Advisory Council of the Alzheimer's Association, Los Angeles, Riverside & San Bernardino Counties Chapter, Inc. seeks to balance the community'es need for information about clinical trials against the risk of promoting unscreened providers of such trials. To ensure that our families have access to this very valuable information, the Association will publicize information about trials performed at USC or UCLA and trials from other providers that have been screened and posted on the federal website www.clinicaltrials.gov. If and organization meets federal criteria for posting on this website, then the Alzheimer's Association, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties Chapter, Inc. will list those approved providers of trials in the newsletter, promotional fliers and communication outlets. The Alzheimer's Associations does not recommend or endorse specific drug trials. We offer the listings below as information only.
